Corner Bakery French Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
14 thick slices of day old cinnamon-raisin bakery bread
1 & 1/2 c of half-and-half
1/2 c of sugar
1/2 tsps of cinnamon (ground)
3 lightly-beaten eggs
1 c of whipped cream
1/2 tsp of extract (vanilla)
Warmed maple-flavored syrup
Instructions:
Preheat the oven into 375 degrees F.
Grease one 8″ square bake pan then line its bottom w/ 3 bread slices, cut to nicely fit then top w/ 3 additional slices. Place eight slices right across the top on two rows, but in shingle manner. Firmly press into pan.
combine cinnamon, half-and-half, vanilla, sugar & cream in bowl then you pour this over the bread. Have pan covered w/ foil then bake it for 40 mins.
You remove the foil then continue baking for 10 more mins. Remove then stand for 10 mins prior to serving. Serve w/ maple-flavored syrup.
