Creole Gumbo Recipe
Ingredients:
1 can of chicken stock
3 c of water
1 can of tomatoes
1 small bayleaf
2 Tbsp of butter
1 Tbsp of dry leaves of thyme
1 c of onion; chopped
1 Tbsp of parsley’ minced
1/4 c of chopped bellpepper (green)
3 Tbsp of powdered file
1 pound of sliced chicken-breast
Pepper
Salt
3 turkey-sausage; sliced
2 c of frozen okra; sliced
Garlic seasoning
2 c of frozen small shrimps; cooked
3 c of rice; cooked
Hot-pepper sauce
Instructions:
Combine garlic seasoning, pepper, salt, sausage chicken, powdered file, parsley, pepper, onion, butter, thyme, bayleaf, water, tomatoes & chicken stock in large stockpot.
Let it cook for half an hour then add the okra & continue cooking for 8-10 mins.
Put in baby shrimps then stand for 5 mins. Have the bayleaf removed prior to serving. Season w/ hot-pepper sauce as you please.
