Easy Mexican Calzones Recipe
Ingredients:
15 ounces of pie pastry (refrigerated); kept at room-temp
4 ounces of diced chiles (green)
1 pack of Taco-seasoning mix
1 lb of beef (ground)
1/4 c of water
1 c of shredded cheese (Cheddar); divided
Instructions:
Have oven preheated to four hundred twenty-five degrees Fahrenheit. Cook the beef in skillet ’til browned then add the seasoning-mix, water & chiles, blend well. You place the unwrapped crusts in slicing board then unfold.
Slice every crust into half then create 4 halved circles. You scoop 1/2 c meat filling on every circle then top w/ 1/4 c cheese. You dampen every crust w/ water.
Have sides folded over the filling then crimp the edges w/ fork tines. Arrange them on bake sheet then bake them for about 10-15 mins ’til golden-brown. Allow to cool slightly on bake sheet about 5 mins.
Garnish w/ sliced onion, tomatoes that are diced, sourcream, lettuce or salsa.
